What to know about tryout timing and preparation — and where to go for club-specific dates.
We don't currently maintain a database of specific tryout dates per club — schedules are set independently by each club and change from year to year, so a filtered "tryout dates" list here wouldn't stay accurate. Instead, see our Tryout Tips article for what to expect and how to prepare, and browse our clubs directory to find and contact programs in your state directly for their current schedule.
Most competitive AA and AAA travel programs hold tryouts in the spring (roughly April through June) for the season starting that fall, though exact timing varies by region, club, and age group. House league programs are generally open enrollment with no tryout at all. Because timing varies so much by club, the most reliable date is always the one posted directly by the club itself.
Bring full equipment as if for a game, along with any registration paperwork or tryout fee the club requests in advance. Our Tryout Tips article covers what coaches typically look for and which skills are worth practicing beforehand in more detail.
Browse our clubs directory by state and level (AAA, AA, or House League), then reach out to programs directly — most clubs publish their own tryout schedule on their website or social channels as the date approaches.
