What we store in your browser, and how to manage it.
Cookies are small files a website can store in your browser. Kids Hockey's own consent and preference mechanism actually uses your browser's local storage rather than a traditional cookie — functionally similar (it persists your choice in your browser), but technically a different mechanism. Some third-party services we use (see below) may set traditional cookies of their own.
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage; Google may set its own cookies as part of this. Google Analytics is only loaded after you choose "Accept" in our cookie banner (or previously chose Accept on an earlier visit) — choosing "Decline" or "Essential Only" means the Google Analytics script is never added to the page and never sets any cookies. We currently don't have Stripe or other payment cookies since real billing isn't connected yet — this section will be updated when that changes.
Our on-site banner controls whether Google Analytics loads at all: choosing "Accept" adds the Google Analytics script to the page (and remembers that choice in your browser's local storage for future visits); choosing "Essential Only" or "Decline" keeps it from loading, both now and on later visits, until you choose Accept. If you'd like an extra layer of control beyond our banner, your browser's own cookie settings or a browser extension/ad-blocker can also block Google Analytics.
We'll update this page when our cookie/consent behavior changes — including if/when we connect our banner's choice to actually gating analytics.
